Faculty Members Information System(FMIS)

FMIS is a university wide portal for faculty members that:

  • Allows faculty members to create their academic profile.

  • Applies to different academic processes.

  • Creates a central repository, where faculties and the academic administration can perform multiple tasks.

FMIS Objectives
Central Repository:
  • Allow faculties & academic administration to extract/share streamline information.

  • Provide faculties & academic administration with comprehensive reporting and analytics.

  • Allow faculties & academic administration to save administrative records.

All is done in a secure role based environment.
FMIS Modules
To achieve these objectives FMIS includes the following 4 modules:
  • 1.Profiles

  • 2.Academic Processes

  • 3.Administrative Records

  • 4.Reports

1.Profiles
Faculty members can create and update their academic profile which includes their:
  • Bio Data

  • Research Activities & Interests

  • Teaching

  • Professional & Outreach Activities

  • Service

  • Awards & Accomplishments

To facilitate the process of updating the profiles, this module integrates with external and internal databases:
  • Import publications from external databases

  • Import teaching from the faculty information system (Banner)

  • Import grants

2.Academic Processes
-Using the system, faculty members can apply to academic processes such as:
  • Reappointment

  • Leaves

  • Annual Reviews

  • Promotions

-The submitted forms will be available to concerned users in the faculty and the academic administration as per their role to either review or approve.
-These processes will be utilizing workflows and electronic approvals.

3.Adminsitrative Records
The administration can use Obeo FMIS to track all internal information about the faculty member such as:
  • Bio Data

  • Contracts

  • Administrative Positions

  • Degrees

  • Certificates

  • Committee Assignments

4.Reports

-The academic administration can generate reports on all information related to the faculty member provided in the previous 3 modules.
-The system utilizes the intelligence tool QlikView to provide analytics to users based on their role and access level.
